In partnership with Enquirer Media and Local 12, The Rotary Club of Cincinnati will be looking to recognize ordinary people who do extraordinary things without the expectation of recognition or reward. The Jefferson Award, which is recognized as the Nobel Prize for public service, was created in 1972 by Cincinnati's own U.S. Senator Robert Taft and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and is presented annually to recipients in more than 90 cities in the United States. The AIPS's mission is to encourage and honor individuals for their achievements and contributions through public and community service.

On March 14, 2013, the Rotary Club of Cincinnati will host the annual Jefferson Award presentation luncheon during their weekly meeting and will announce this year's winner. The winner will then go to Washington, D.C. in June to represent our region for the National Award. (PRBuzz.com) February 7, 2013 -- Seasonal Influenza is a respiratory infection caused by influenza virus that results in mild to severe symptoms, such as fever, cold and cough. Vaccination has been shown to reduce influenza morbidity and mortality and high economic burden associated with influenza illness. GlobalData's epidemiologists expect seasonal influenza vaccination coverage rates for all countries but the UK and China to remain constant on average throughout the forecast period. Vaccine demand for all nine countries, on the other hand, is forecast to increase in the next decade. Overall, the US is projected to have the largest vaccine demand in the next decade at over 158 million, followed by Japan's 37.4 million, whereas Spain is expected to have the lowest demand at just over eight million. Annual growth in vaccine demand for the next 10 years is highest in India (2.10%) and the UK (1.38%) and lowest in Japan (0.42%) and Germany (0.26%). By 2022, the US will have the highest vaccination coverage rate (46.1%) and India and China the lowest (both at 1.7%). Vaccine demand is expected to increase across all nine markets, even in countries where vaccination coverage rates remain stable. This increase is mostly due to population growth, especially growth in the elderly age group.

This happened due to failure of following the rules and regulation imposed by PPCA and APRA pertaining to illegal downloading of music without relevant reproduction licenses.

Running a venue is not an easy task. It requires dedication and hard work, and it's even more difficult as operators need to follow the rules and regulation imposed by the Government. South East Queensland's venue operators and owners and function managers need to make sure the music they use is not pirated and that they have appropriate public performance licenses from APRA and PPCA or relevant copyright owner in place. Inspecting building facades is a risky business. A facade inspector hangs hundreds of feet above ground on a rope thinner than a finger. This is the reason why Kaz modified a remotely controlled quadrocopter in order to adapt it to the challenges of the building enclosure trade by extending its range, battery, and adjusting the front camera, so the drone can reach the remote areas of building elevations, with the live video feed to the operator, and can take pictures of any observed defects and failures.

Kaz, who is a licensed Florida and New York State architect, working as a building enclosure consultant, wrote: "I have not heard of anyone else using unmanned aerial vehicles for forensic investigations of building enclosures, so i had to start from the scratch, by extending its range of flight, and adapting its sights."

This effort, which started in mid-2012, resulted in the development of the workable solution.

Kaz said: "This is essentially a very cool toy which I converted in a functional tool. Passers-by are invariably attracted to it, so there is always a several spectators gathering around me when I operate the drone."

Through the use of this UAV, engineers and architects can significantly reduce the risk, time and cost involved in façade inspections. A knowledgeable and experienced inspector operating the unmanned aerial vehicle can narrow the scope of a facade inspection by identifying those areas which will absolutely require human inspection, and consequently significantly reduce time, risk, and cost of facade inspection. All we risk is several hundred dollars of equipment as opposed to human life.

If you see a UFO hovering in front of your window, don't worry. It may be a drone inspecting the facade of your building. And the operator watching through its cameras may be a handsome architect as opposed to a peeping pervert.

Confidential Medical Records Security

Canton, OH   (PRBuzz.com) February 7, 2013 --  Security Consultant John M. White CPP, CHPA of Protection Management, LLC, recommends that medical businesses insure that their handling of confidential material has the proper safeguards in place at all times.

According to security expert John M. White, CPP, CHPA, "When it comes to having a proper way to handle confidential materials, most business have no system at all."  While conducting security assessments at several medical campuses, White says he has found confidential papers such as medical records, business finance information, employee information, and many other sources of confidential materials lying out in view of everyone, or in the dumpster.  According to White, businesses need to protect their records at all times and insure that if they are discarded it is done in a secure manner.

With the regulations related to medical records, White stated that hospitals and medical offices do a much better job overall.  However, vulnerabilities almost always exist.  In one hospital White found that when printed medical records were being discarded, the organization had locked "Confidential" bins in which the materials were supposed to be placed in.  However, it was found that since staff did not have a key to the bin, which was set up that way to keep the material secure and confidential, medical staff would often stack the material on top of the bins so they could have access to them if needed.  "Eventually they would place the items into the bin, but in some cases that might take 24 hours, maybe more," said White.  "There is also the risk of the wrong people receiving the medical records intended for someone else.  I have personally seen inner-office mail delivered to the wrong person who opened the envelope, addressed to them, only to find confidential medical records enclosed, and the person that received the files had no qualified need to receive such," said White.

White also warns that when sending confidential information via fax or email, the sender must check and double check the fax number or email address it is being sent to.  "I have received confidential information via fax several times because someone had the fax number wrong," White said.
